„Youth in Cold War Europe & Beyond» – Internationales Sommercamp in Weimar, 28.08.–06.09.2026

Wie war es, im geteilten Europa der zweiten Hälfte des 20. Jahrhunderts jung zu sein? Unser internationales Sommercamp in Weimar geht dieser Frage nach – mit besonderem Blick auf Jugendkultur, Alltagsleben und die Rolle der Musik als gesellschaftliche Kraft. Wir beleuchten, wie Staaten versuchten, das Leben junger Menschen durch Normen, Ideologie und Kontrolle zu prägen – und wie Jugendliche darauf reagierten: durch Anpassung, Widerstand oder ihren ganz eigenen Weg.
Jugendliche aus Kroatien, Tschechien, Litauen, Deutschland und Portugal kommen zusammen, um gemeinsam Geschichte zu erforschen, sich auszutauschen und neue Perspektiven zu gewinnen.share on Facebook · veröffentlicht am 04. September 2026
Summer camp »Generation Europe – The Academy« in Weimar
Following successful participation in the European cooperation projects »EWOCA – European Workcamps«, »Generation Europe« and »Generation Europe – The Academy«, the EJBW is also part of the project in the next programme phase 2026–2028. In partnership with the youth club Kramixxo-Waggong (Weimar), Hellenic Youth Participation (Greece), and KacsaKő Egyesület (Budapest, Hungary), a youth encounter will be held every year, so that over the course of the project three youth encounters will take place in Weimar, Greece, and Hungary. The second key element of the project consists of the local activities carried out by the young people in all three countries between the youth encounters, which are supervised by the project partners.

International Training “4Z. Between us – Learning as a relational practice” – Closing in Weimar
From July 13–19, the final session of the international training »4Z. Between us – Learning as a relational practice« took place in Weimar.
The training focused on the question of how learning can be understood and shaped as a deeply interpersonal process.
Starting from the assumption that learning does not happen in isolation, but arises through exchange with others, the participants engaged intensively with relationships as a central space for development, meaning, and transformation. In doing so, both individual influences—such as values, needs, and experiences—and their impact on learning and teaching processes were reflected upon.
The project series will be concluded in spring and summer 2027 with the module »Culture of observation & Evaluation for change.«

Volu.M.E – Why do it? Values in Volunteering, 27.06.-02.07.2026, Lefkosia & Lysos, Cyprus
What values shape the way we volunteer? And how do they influence the organisations and communities we work with?
For six inspiring days, youth workers, volunteer coordinators, mentors and project managers from across Europe came together to explore the values that lie at the heart of quality volunteering. Through experiential learning, reflection, peer exchange, theatre methods, creative activities and collaborative design, participants examined ethical dilemmas, shared practices from their organisations, and discovered how values are transformed into concrete actions, policies and everyday decisions. The training was part of the Volu.M.E – Volunteer Management Enhanced series, supporting organisations in strengthening volunteer management through non-formal education, international cooperation and shared learning. A heartfelt thank you to all participants for their openness, energy and commitment, and to our facilitators Panayiotis Theodorou, Corina Pintea and Markus Rebitschek for guiding this inspiring learning journey.
The project »Volu.M.E – Why do it? Values in Volunteering« is part of a series that now comprises 25 international activities, over 600 participants, and more than 70 partner organisations from across Europe. A project by »The Constellation.« Funded by the European Union.
